Past cycle

2018-2019 cycle

A Bangladesh-focused cycle with five additional scholarships for non-Bangladeshi applicants.

Final deadline
November 15, 2018

Eligibility

Khaldun Scholarship is open to anyone with intellectual curiosity demonstrated through academics or social commitment, and financial need. Due to donor arrangements and resource limitations, this cycle focused primarily on applicants from Bangladesh.

Five scholarships were available for applicants who are not citizens of Bangladesh. Each of those five covered application fees for a maximum of five universities (no reimbursement for GRE or IELTS/TOEFL fees).

Applicants with genuine financial need that might otherwise prevent them from applying to graduate school were encouraged to apply.

What KI offered

  • Scholarship for GRE, IELTS/TOEFL and university application fees, plus airfare and excellence scholarship for exceptional candidates.
  • Guidance from Khaldun scholars to support the application process.
  • Mentorship to help excel in academic and professional careers.

Scholar commitments

  • Remain active as peer advisors in the Khaldun Scholars Network.
  • Participate in at least one winter or summer program recommended by Khaldun.
  • Once financially able, give back to Khaldun an amount at least equal to the scholarship received in order to support new scholars.

We looked for

  • Outstanding candidates, academically and professionally.
  • Candidates with demonstrated success in serving their communities.

Deadline

Applications were considered on a rolling basis. Final deadline: November 15, 2018.
